ABOUT US
IsaanBonjour is a private, not for profit organisation, dedicated to promoting the northeastern region of Thailand called ISAAN, the name originates from Sanskrit language and literally means ‘North-East’.
The Isaan region consists of 20 individual provinces making it the largest region in Thailand. It enjoys its own cultural heritage through language, ethnic minorities, food, traditional music, festivals, arts, and archaeology all of which have been shaped through the centuries by the Khmer empire and the Lan Xiang kingdom from Laos.
Isaan’s economy is mostly based in agriculture, with a strong biodiversity and numerous National Parks located on what is called the Korat plateau.
Geographically, Isaan enjoys a strategic economic location bordering Laos and Cambodia and the Mekong River.
Through meaningful Soft Power actions, IsaanBonjour will assist a dynamic young population and a booming, industrious region take its place in the general economic development of Thailand, the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) and ASEAN market region. This will also align with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) which is a free trade agreement among Asia-Pacific nations.
